I moved to Asheville when I was 5 years old and call these mountains home.  After graduating from UNC-Asheville I ventured forth into the wild and wacky world of radio, with stops in such diverse cities as Chattanooga, Fargo, Scranton, Miami and Atlanta.
A film and television acting career followed.  In the Heat of the Night, I'll Fly Away, Scream 2 and various other films and television shows kept me busy as an actress in Atlanta for a lot of years.  (Larry Hagman was the coolest famous actor- director I have worked with, and he called me darlin', twice.)  My weirdest acting experience was playing a murderer on Unsolved Mysteries.  Four days of filming included setting a house on fire and dumping a car in a river.  Hmmm, definitely out of character.

It's great to be back in radio. Tamer, and definitely less dangerous.

A book I read when I was fifteen.  Sad, frightening, amazing...a highly recommended read.  The plot:

Ivan Denisovich Shukhov has been sentenced to a camp in the Soviet gulag system, accused of becoming a spy after being captured by the Germans as a prisoner of war during World War II. He is innocent, but is nonetheless punished by the government for being a spy. His sentence is for ten years, but the book indicates that most people never leave the camps.

The book describes one day in prison.
